Referees, especially in the academia world, want to be called by their full title. For example, in Faculty recruitment situations, referee's are other Faculty members. When entering references, not all candidates enter the "Dr" prefix into the First Name box. When the reference check request goes out, the only merge field available for the communication is {FIRSTNAME}. The reference request is therefore addressed to First Name Last Name.
We have received feedback directly from these referees that it is disrespectful to not address them by their proper title. If the referee is a Dr they want to be addressed as such.
We are asking that the reference form be updated to include a prefix option AND the merge field is updated to include said prefix to be respectful and inclusive of referee names and prefixes.
