Additional Learning Activity Field Status - Exempt

The addition of an additional field of 'Exempt', and 'Equivalent Prior Learning' to the Activity Status for learning. This would act in the same way as a completion (i.e. not appear in their 'Working on' section of their development plan, but hold an activity status of 'Exempt' or 'Equivalent Prior Learning'.

What business value are you trying to achieve?

We have courses that on occasion require people to be exempted from, or recognised as equivalent prior learning. These courses are part of our national mandatory course requirements as part of the community services sector (Disability Support, Out of Home Care Support, Immigration Support etc) that are required by legislation to be completed. However these courses sometimes contain themes that culturally may have implications for users to complete, or may include themes that may cause distress to a viewer. In this instance, we need to report to the Government about why a person may not have completed a course, and hence we need an additional field of 'Exempt' as they are exempted from completing it, but we also need to document why they are not required to do this. An example is if training relating to cultural awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, some of the images or media used may contain people who are deceased which creates a cultural impact for the learner. This is only one example of many reasons that we require this.

We also require this functionality. We have some mandatory training such as sexual assault training that due to the nature of the content, staff can be removed from the requirement to complete it.
