I do not see information about this in the knowledge portal article you mention below....and I don't see a public name in the offer letter set up.
We have recently completed development that should solve this problem. Clients now have the ability to add a 'public title' against merge documents. This means that you can label your documents in any way you like to help your users better identify the contents of the letter while still maintaining a user friendly document name when issued out to applicants. The public name also supports the automatic merging of the applicant's first and last name should you want to add this into the title of their offer letter.
This change is currently out on BETA and scheduled for LIVE deployment on September 1st 2021.
