Staff should not see their own position descriptions if they are 'Pending Approval'.

Position Descriptions that are not in an 'Approved' status should be hidden from their incumbents. Staff should not see their own PD when it is in the 'Pending Approval' status being re-evaluated.

What business value are you trying to achieve?

Confidentiality and Professionalism. Staff may not know their PD is being re-evaluated. Also, there may be sensitive data or conversations attached to that open PD since multiple people have access to add to it (documents and comments). This is mainly for staff that have supervisory duties as they are the ones that can see their own pending PD.

Our institution asks staff to review their position description as part of any review and approval process for filled positions to provide transparency into position changes. This includes both simple PD updates and requests for reclassification. We hold sensitive data or conversations that shouldn't be viewed by the employee outside the system. Not allowing employees to see the PD during the "pending approval" step seems less inclusive of the employee.
