We would like to provide applicants with a way to verify that they have entered the correct email address. Below are a couple ideas:
Require the applicant to enter their email address twice when creating an account. Validate that the email addresses match before allowing the applicant to continue filling out the application form.
Require the applicant to enter a "verification code" in order to create their account. For example, after an applicant enters their email address/username, send an email to their username. The applicant would then need to enter the code provided in the email in order to finish creating their account.

What business value are you trying to achieve?
We want to make the application process--in particular, the process of choosing a username--as clear and straightforward as possible. We also hope that this will reduce the number of duplicate applications we receive. (Some applicants have submitted a second application after creating an initial application using an incorrect email address--for example, an email address with a typo.) We would like to save applicants from the additional work of submitting a second application and administrators from the work of reviewing and addressing duplicate applications. |
The PageUp Product team is working on improving and adding more fidelity to the applicant login process. The proposed capability will enable applicants validate their email address and login with their social accounts or through an OTP sent to their email (in addition to the existing password based login). Validating email ids like this will directly address this need/ idea + also greatly simplify candidates' experience. Candidates can login through an experience that is more contemporary and something that they are already familiar with. The capability is expected to be released to customers in March'23.
