Hello Mark,
Upon thorough review of this idea, we arrived at the following conclusions:
Language Overrides: Overrides are needed for the funnel (e.g., "Business Unit" is "Brand" on my job card, and "Department" is "Unit" on my job card). This is not supported by Looker as language overrides don’t apply to the 'Dashboard filter'. — This cannot be done.
Provide Hierarchy: For example, following Organizational Hierarchy rules, selecting "Business" should restrict the options available in "Department" (my unit). If this refers to the filter for "Business", then the "Department" filter will display options that belong to the selected "Business". — This can be done.
Hence, could you please raise a separate idea for the "provide hierarchy" feature so we can consider it for future enhancements?
Thanks,
John Lorenzo
Adam - any chance for "Provide hierarchy - e.g. follow Organisational Hierarchy rules - select Business then restricts you to Department (my unit)."??
sorry, it was moved into more info required but should be under review. My understanding is that this should already function as you are describing, so it is currently on my backlog to identify why the language is displaying incorrectly
Language overrides are required and should be picked up from platform language overrides already in the platform
alternatively - provide unique language overrides for the funnel
My users would not know "Department" - it is known as Unit from our job card
