Allow bulk move when multiple application tabs open

Allow Recruiters to open more than one 'manage applications' page/tab at any one time, and allow us to bulk move the candidates in the job selected.

At present, if you do this with colour coding, when you select 'bulk move' action, the colour coding goes and you are directed to another role, therefore, losing the status of the various candidates you were looking to change.

What business value are you trying to achieve?

When performing bulk actions via the Manage Applications screen, you may encounter an error like the one below:

Unable to perform bulk action. Duplicate users detected. Please try searching again.

This will happen if another manage applications page has been opened at any time since the original page was opened.

For example, you're screening candidates for role X, when you get a call from a hiring manager wanting to talk about job Z.

You open up job Z to review applicants, reject some, move some to phone screen etc;, you then go back to job X to complete the screening, to which you would like to bulk move candidates. This will now not work as you have already opened up another manage applications page (job Z) during the time you were initially reviewing the role.

Recruiters are often reviewing multiple jobs simultaneously that could result in several tabs being opened, including multiple 'manage application' tabs.

This ticket should be called - Buk move fails with multiple windows open.

This is a pretty glaring issue in my opinion and goes to the core of how the majority of people on the planet use software (With multiple windows open performing multiple concurrent tasks). I'm pretty amazed it hasn't collected more votes. The suggested workaround is poor:

When performing bulk actions via the Manage Applications screen, on rare occasions users may encounter the below message: Unable to perform bulk action. Duplicate users detected. Please try searching again. Through our experience and testing, PageUp Support have confirmed that the issue will happen if another manage applications page has been opened at any time since the original page was opened. Bulk actions are designed to make processing the applications for a single job much faster, and the system is designed to restrict these actions to a single job in order to prevent any errors with performing such actions. With that in mind, we understand that when users are working with a high volume of applicants that this may take a while. Throughout that time something else may come up requiring you to look at another job's applications, which would be opened in a new browser tab. However, even if you then close the new tab for that other job before clicking bulk move on the first, the error will still occur. This is because the act of opening the other manage applications page has triggered the error. This can also happen if you open another manage applications page and close it again before the new page fully loads. Once clicked on, the new job ID is saved in the user preference, causing the error. For example, you should see the issue if you follow the below steps: 1. Go to Manage applications for one job 2. Open another tab on the Manage Jobs page 3. Click View applications for any job (other than the job selected in step 1) 4. Close the new tab (you can do this before or after the new tab loads) 5. Select an applicant on the job from step 1 6. Select Bulk Move from the dropdown If you are interrupted while screening applicants, the recommended approach would be to finish the bulk move of the applicants you have already screened before opening another tab. This is the best way to prevent the issue from occurring. As a potential workaround, if you need to open a new manage applications screen, you can try opening the new page in a new browser. For example, if you are working in Google Chrome, open the new page in Mozilla Firefox (or Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, etc) - then you can go back to what you were doing in Chrome. From our testing, this seems to avoid the error. Keep in mind that you would still need to only have one job open per browser to avoid the issue. Please note though that we can't guarantee this will work in all cases; the only way to guarantee it is to use only one manage applications screen as described above.

This happens to me at least twice a week. If each error results in 30 minutes of lost productivity on average, there's 6 million pageup users, and let's say even 1% of your user base experiences this error twice a week, that's up to $2.5M per week in lost organisational productivity across your user base. You could probably validate this in your backend by querying how often this specific error is thrown globally.

I'd love for this to be reviewed as a future development item for PageUp.
    Thanks!
