Blind Screening

Anonymised profiles:

We are working on adding an Anonymised profiles feature that can be configured per recruitment process. This will allow clients to pilot the feature with groups within their organisation rather than an on/off approach.

When the feature is enabled for the recruitment process, users viewing applicants on the Applicant Progress Board will see that the names of the applicants have been obfuscated with colour & fruit names so as to have something to anchor on (easier than applicant ID's) and the Resume as well as the resume embedded within the View Form link will have the name and email address redacted.

A 'click to reveal' icon will temporarily display the applicant name. We do not want to prevent users from completing a task, but having the obfuscated name with an option to view, provides enough friction not to look at a name when making shortlisting decisions and raises awareness of unconscious bias.

We will be seeking feedback from customers that try out this new feature before developing out further resume redaction capability.

What business value are you trying to achieve?
Introduce the functionality for blind screening applicants. Access to blind screening can be turned on or off by the users group. i.e. Hiring Manager's have blind screening turned on so they do not have the ability to see applicants name, gender, age and other personal details when screening. This will remove any type of unconscious biases or discrimination from the recruitment process.

We would like to see the Anonymize Profiles toggle switch be locked down for Hiring Managers so they do not have the option of seeing names on the applicant cards or the attached resume. Currently the system allows the Hiring Manager to toggle this feature on and off.

We're planning the next phase of anonymised profiles. Recently the Assessment Tracker** has had the 'Click to reveal' feature added.

Obfuscating names on the Applicant Card and on the Panel functionality.
Along with redacting other application documents in addition to the resume.

** Assessment tracker is evolving to become the new List experience of the Applicant Progress Board - long term eventually replacing Manage Applications.

Recommend making this a job card setting instead

This would then allow the panel to decide on a job by job basis without having to set the requisition itself(and also the applicants) to the Anonymised recruitment process

Agree completely, this is where the industry needs to begin focusing their technological advances for improved DEI.
