Add classification as merge field available for job approval emails

Add classification/agreement as an available merge field for custom Job Approval email templates.

Agreement Classification is captured on the Job Card but cannot currently be merged into the Job Approval email. This means approvers cannot see this information directly within the approval request despite it being a key employment and remuneration detail.

The existing Agreement Classification value should be available as a merge field, removing the need to create duplicate Job Card fields or manually enter classification information elsewhere.

What business value are you trying to achieve?

Classification is a key employment and remuneration control and is important information for approvers when reviewing a recruitment request.

Including the Job Card's Agreement Classification directly in the approval email would:

  • give approvers the information required to make an informed approval decision;

  • strengthen recruitment and remuneration governance;

  • reduce the risk of approving an incorrect classification;

  • remove duplicate data entry and associated human error; and

  • ensure the approval email accurately reflects the information recorded on the Job Card.

This would improve both the efficiency and integrity of the Job Approval process, particularly for organisations where classification is governed by an industrial instrument or enterprise agreement.
