We have an operational 'shut-down' period at certain times throughout the year. It's extremely disruptive to have new-starters to commence during the shut-down period and I would like to create some type of reminder when determining a start date that we are 'closed' or unable to accept a new-starter during that period of time. Ideally if the dates were in red text or greyed out.

What business value are you trying to achieve?
When we have a new-starter commence during a shut-down they don't really experience the best first-day / first week as it's during a highly intensive period. There's also restrictive availabilities on flights and accommodation on site, so they are often pushed back, however the company will still pay for them to stay at home. This is not ideal and we must avoid new-starters commencing during a shut-down period. |
