Prevent Offers being initiated if the job is closed

Prevent Offer from being created on a closed job

you cannot add an applicant to a closed job so you should not be able to initiate a contract on a closed jobs

What business value are you trying to achieve?

We sometimes get managers trying to raise contracts on closed jobs

impact - the new employee cannot complete the new starter form

    Thanks for the consideration here John

    I was hoping the logic PageUp is already using that prevents applicants being Added to closed jobs could be applied to Offers as well.

    Maybe in future this could be reconsidered

    After careful consideration, we’ve reviewed your idea and, at this time, it is not aligned with our current product priorities.

    PageUp already provides a mechanism for managing offers through headcount management. For example, if a job is approved for five positions and offers are extended to five applicants, any attempt to make a sixth offer will trigger a warning stating, "There are no positions left."

    If a job has been closed but still shows open positions, these should be reviewed and handled appropriately. Were the remaining positions cancelled? If so, the job card should be updated to reflect this accurately. Ensuring the job details are up to date minimises the risk of positions being inadvertently available for offers.

    By maintaining accurate job information, headcount management becomes an effective tool for preventing offers from being initiated when they shouldn't be. This process helps ensure alignment between job approvals, offers, and actual headcount requirements.
