PageUp Aliases emails - prevent To messages

Provide an error message response when someone send to a -532@mail.pageuppeople.com email address

What is the business process you are trying to achieve?

Prevent lost emails

PageUp creates and uses -532@mail.pageuppeople.com to allow messages to be sent and replied to

e.g. Health.DHWHumanResources-532@mail.pageuppeople.com

Real email Health.DHWHumanResources@sa.gov.au

everything is fine there - however Microsoft 365 is now very "helpful" and will prompt someone with Outlook 365 to show both email addresses.

This causes a problem because if they send To the -532@mail.pageuppeople.com it goes nowhere and we lose the message and the user thinks it has been sent and is waiting for a response

John - can you detect if the email is To or From?

If To - provide an autoreply saying please use the real address

    Hi Mark,

This is not possible because the emails aren't real, and PageUp would not be able to identify which emails fail. Attempting to resolve such a massive and intricate activity would require significant investment and carry substantial risk. This would involve a complete restructure of how we manage communications, which is currently not aligned with our product priorities.

    Thanks,

    John Lorenzo
