Archive application statuses, but still have access to applicants in those statuses.

We currently have too many applicant status options to choose from, making it confusing for administrators and supervisors to know which status to choose. To ensure a more efficient and universal process, we want to eliminate old statuses that are redundant or confusing, and create a shorter, more straightforward list of application statuses for each step in the review/interview process. Archiving a current status makes it so that all applicants in that status, are moved into 'unsorted applicants' on the board view and those applicants are no longer accessible to anyone with access to the job and applications. How can we phase out old application statuses to implement new ones without interfering with the current applicant pool? It worked in the test environment, but does not work in production.

What is the business process you are trying to achieve?

We are trying to update our PageUp processes to be more efficient and straight forward, so we want to delete/archive old statuses that were created a long time ago.

Thank you for taking the time to share your idea.

After careful consideration, we’ve reviewed your idea and, at this time, it is not aligned with our current product priorities. Archiving a status typically happens when it's not in use for an extended period, rather than for active applications. If the goal is to clean up an active recruitment process, it's crucial to first map out which status an archived candidate should transition into. This should be part of the overall 'archiving an application status' process.

Please know that your idea is not dismissed; it remains a part of our ideas database and may be reconsidered as our priorities evolve in the future.

We encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts and ideas with us. Your feedback is crucial as we strive to improve and grow.
