We currently have too many applicant status options to choose from, making it confusing for administrators and supervisors to know which status to choose. To ensure a more efficient and universal process, we want to eliminate old statuses that are redundant or confusing, and create a shorter, more straightforward list of application statuses for each step in the review/interview process. Archiving a current status makes it so that all applicants in that status, are moved into 'unsorted applicants' on the board view and those applicants are no longer accessible to anyone with access to the job and applications. How can we phase out old application statuses to implement new ones without interfering with the current applicant pool? It worked in the test environment, but does not work in production.

We are trying to update our PageUp processes to be more efficient and straight forward, so we want to delete/archive old statuses that were created a long time ago. |

Archiving a status typically happens when it's not in use for an extended period, rather than for active applications. If the goal is to clean up an active recruitment process, it's crucial to first map out which status an archived candidate should transition into. This should be part of the overall 'archiving an application status' process.
