The rates calculator would be great if it allowed "If this then that" style logic.
For example if "Work Type" = "Daily" then ignore hours per day. Otherwise if "Work Type" = "Hourly" then times the "Hours per day" to work out the daily rate.
There are workarounds yet they often involve assuming a daily rate contractor will always work 8 hours a day.
Another improvement idea is the concept of weekdays. I know public holidays would be too difficult (Different clients, different locations); however; perhaps weekdays?
Right now we are using Cost = Daily Rate * 5/7. (This is a rough guess at weekdays).
This is close enough for contracts 3-6 months in duration but for contracts < 1 week this result could be made more accurate.
