The Preferred Name field does not display on the application. So, if applications are compiled and sent to someone (usually a hiring manager) they would not know to use the preferred name when contacting the applicant (unless they had access and were going into the applicant pool to find this information). The ask is that the preferred name field is added to the displayed fields of the application form.
