Automatically populate Cost Centre based on selected Location

Current challenge

Many organisations have a one-to-one relationship between Location and Cost Centre. In our case, each location already has a designated Cost Centre configured within PageUp.

When creating a job, users are required to manually select both the Location and the Cost Centre, even though the Cost Centre is already known based on the selected Location. This creates unnecessary administration, increases the risk of human error, and can result in incorrect billing references being sent to external advertising channels such as SEEK.

Suggested enhancement

Introduce an option to automatically populate the Job Card Cost Centre field based on the selected Location.

For example:

• User selects appropriate location as the "Location".

• PageUp automatically populates the corresponding Cost Centre linked to that location.

• The Cost Centre can remain editable (optional configuration) or locked/read-only depending on organisational requirements.

Benefits

• Reduces manual data entry for hiring managers and administrators.

• Improves data accuracy and consistency across recruitment records.

• Ensures SEEK Billing References are automatically populated with the correct Cost Centre.

• Minimises advertising charge allocation errors.

• Improves user experience by leveraging existing organisational data already stored within the system.

• Particularly beneficial for education, government and multi-site organisations managing large numbers of locations and cost centres.
