Application Progress board - revert back to state/country instead of town

The new applicant board looks great. However, I have noticed that the location displayed under each candidate's name now shows the town, which has made navigation and shortlisting more challenging. Can we revert to the previous format where the candidate’s State was displayed instead.

Displaying the State allows you to more quickly and accurately assess candidate suitability without needing to open individual profiles. Since not all of our recruiters in our team are familiar with towns across the state or country, this change has unintentionally slowed down our screening process. Reintroducing the State view would significantly improve efficiency and help us maintain momentum in our hiring workflows.

What business value are you trying to achieve?

Value for the Recruiter:

  1. Faster Shortlisting:
Recruiters can immediately assess candidate relevance by location without needing to open profiles or research town names.

  2. Less Cognitive Load:
Not all recruiters are familiar with towns across the state or country. Displaying State instead removes unnecessary complexity and helps newer or interstate recruiters make informed decisions faster.

  3. Improved Accuracy:
With clear, higher-level location data, there's less risk of overlooking suitable candidates due to unfamiliar town names.

  4. Better Collaboration:
Standardising location data (State vs. varied towns) makes team-based hiring workflows more efficient and consistent.

Value to the Business:

  1. Efficiency = Cost Savings:
Reducing the time spent per application leads to faster hiring cycles, saving recruiter hours and operational costs.

  2. Improved Time-to-Hire:
Easier filtering by relevant locations enables quicker identification of viable candidates, which speeds up the hiring pipeline.

  3. Better Candidate Experience:
Faster recruiter responses can lead to quicker outreach, keeping top candidates engaged and reducing drop-off rates.

  4. Scalability:
As hiring scales or expands nationally, relying on State allows for a more standardised and scalable system for candidate triage.
