Make Search Committee Responses Available for Hiring Coordinators

Making Search Committee responses available to be viewed by Hiring Coordinators would be very beneficial when dispositioning candidates. We currently have Search Committees that make comments on whether an applicant has been interviewed or not in this section. However, when the Hiring Coordinator goes to disposition candidates, these comments cannot be viewed and the Search Committee chair has to provide this information to them.

What business value are you trying to achieve?

I think this would be useful in expediting hiring processes.

If by "Hiring Coordinators" you mean "HR/Faculty Affairs Representative," then yes, absolutely.

As an executive recruiter for Cal Poly, I am unable to review committee members' comments directly during executive recruitments. As a result, I must ask each committee member to email me their input on whether they support moving a candidate forward. This process is both inefficient and time-consuming for everyone involved.

FYI: For some executive recruitments, we follow a “rolling process,” where candidates are advanced for committee review individually, after the recruiter completes the initial interview, rather than presenting all candidates at once. At that point, we ask the committee to provide comments and indicate whether they recommend moving the candidate forward to a first-round committee interview. However, since these comments are submitted within PageUp and are not visible to HR (the recruiter) or the Faculty Affairs representative, we also need to ask committee members to email us their feedback separately.

So yes, I see this as an important ask. Feel free to reach out to me if you have other questions regarding my statements above.
