Automated Email Notifications for Approval Status Updates

Currently, users who create the position description—or the initiator—need to log into the system repeatedly to check the status of a position description or job card to see who it's with. This creates an inefficient process where people spend time manually checking for status updates.

Adding an automated email notification feature that alerts users when an approver takes action would be very beneficial. The notification should include who approved it, when it happened, and ideally a direct link to the item so users can quickly access additional details if needed. This would save users significant time and reduce the need to constantly log into the system to check for updates.

What business value are you trying to achieve?

This enhancement would improve efficiency and reduce the time users spend checking for updates. Many people at our institution wear multiple hats and may only use the ATS system occasionally. Requiring them to log in repeatedly just to check a status is not an effective use of their time.

An automated notification would streamline the workflow, reduce manual effort, and enhance the overall user experience. While this might seem like a small change, it's something many users at my institution have requested and it would make the system more user-friendly and far less time-consuming.

Thank you for your feedback. We may consider this in future as part of a centralised notifications area in the system.
