My suggestion, is to remove the list of Non-Current Recruitment options from the Status drop down list, and only show the Current Recruitment options. This will remove the risk of a user closing the Job Card via the incorrect method.

What is the business process you are trying to achieve?
We know that there is only one correct method to move a Job Card to a Non-Current Recruitment status. Which is using the Close Job button. However, a user can still incorrectly close a Job Card by selecting from the Status drop down list on the Job Card and select either Filled, Closed or Cancelled. The benefit of removing this risk and ensuring that the Job Card is closed correctly (via the Close Job Button) is that all unfilled Position Numbers will be reported correctly with the reason why they are cancelled, and also all Candidates who are not at a final stage will be identified and this will lead to a better candidate experience as the user will be forced to move the Application Status to a final status which has the appropriate comms with the outcome to the candidate. |
