I understand that it can be archived. We are asking for the option to nuke it entirely by deleting it, rather then preserving a record of the error by archiving it.
The easiest way to archive an unwanted recruitment brief is to:
Navigate to the job requisition the brief is linked to
Click on the Documents tab and then click the Edit link for the appropriate brief
Once the brief is opened, click the Actions menu in the upper right area of the form (the button with the '...' text)
Click the Archive option in this menu

I had this same thought. I finally found the option where you can archive it. It would makes a lot more sense to be able to delete or cancel something that was created in error or by accident instead of keeping it in history if it was never used.
