When downloading documents, include applicant's name, document category, etc. in file name

Currently, when a user downloads a document from the system, the document is saved to the user's computer with the original file name. It would be great if the file name included some additional information so that users know which application the file is associated with, what type of document it is, etc. Below are some ideas on how to label documents:

  • If submitted by applicant via application form: Applicant Last Name, Applicant First Name - Document Category

  • If submitted by referee via reference check form: Applicant Last Name, Applicant First Name - Document Category from Referee Last Name, Referee First Name

What business value are you trying to achieve?

Enable users to easily find and review specific documents for specific applicants once they have been downloaded from the system. In some cases, users must review multiple documents for multiple applicants.
