We often need to make large-scale updates to position descriptions due to reorganizations, career framework changes, salary range updates, or title standardization efforts. Currently, system administrators must manually update each position description individually, creating a time-consuming process that is prone to errors and inconsistencies.
We would like to propose a file-based import integration that would allow system administrators to mass update selected position description fields, such as Division, Area, Department, Team, Career Framework fields, Position Titles, and Salary Ranges.
This enhancement would benefit HRIS, HR Operations, Compensation, and Talent teams by significantly reducing administrative effort, improving data accuracy and consistency, and ensuring employees, managers, and recruiters have access to current and accurate position information. The result would be substantial efficiency gains and stronger data governance across the organization.

What business value are you trying to achieve?
This enhancement would deliver significant business value by reducing the administrative burden associated with maintaining position descriptions. We regularly experience restructures, compensation updates, career framework revisions, title standardization efforts, and other large-scale workforce changes that require updates across hundreds or thousands of position descriptions. Without a mass update capability, these changes must be completed manually, creating substantial inefficiencies and increasing the risk of errors and inconsistent data. The need for this functionality is growing as we place greater emphasis on data governance, workforce planning, compensation transparency, and maintaining accurate employee records. Manual maintenance can delay organizational changes and make it difficult to ensure position descriptions accurately reflect current structures, titles, responsibilities, and compensation information. For users, this enhancement would provide a faster, more efficient way to manage large-scale updates, reduce repetitive data entry, and improve confidence in data accuracy. For the business, it would improve data integrity, support compliance and reporting needs, accelerate organizational change initiatives, and free HR and HRIS resources to focus on higher-value strategic work rather than manual administrative tasks. The outcome is a more scalable, efficient, and accurate position management process that keeps position data current and aligned with organizational needs. |
