Improve the New Hire Dashboard metric by changing the inclusion criteria on the report

Currently the 'New Hire' Dashboard record reflects a running accounting of all applicants with effective dates on or after today minus 30 days. Please consider changing this so that this report reflects a running total of new hires since a specific/static date, such as the start of the fiscal (ideally) or calendar year.

What business value are you trying to achieve?

This metric is not as meaningful as it would be if the results were set to a static date (such as 7/1/2025) vs. showing results on a rolling total of hires since 30 days ago. Today, our numbers fluctuate +/- 10 or so records each week, because results drop off at the same general rate as new hires are added (except 9/1 - the effective date for all new faculty hires.)

For example, my current dashboard metric shows '63 new hires' - but roughly 35 are new Faculty members. My total will likely hover at ~60 for the next few weeks and then drop down to ~30 when my 9/1 starts drop off. This limitation dilutes the value of this metric and prevents us from measuring year-to-date outcomes. (I've attached a screenshot of the dashboard metric, along with my current 'new new hire' report results.)

If the inclusion criteria could be set to a static effective date(7/1/2025), I could view and measure my daily, weekly, and year-to-date progress in real-time - right from my dashboard. (If this enhancement is not possible, please share the report so that we can create our own.)
