Allow a cut off registration timeline

Is it possible to have a setting to allow a certain number of days before an event and no longer allow registration?

What business value are you trying to achieve?

For learning events that require pre-work materials or for catering purposes, we would appreciate a time to no longer allow registrations to better understand our numbers and provide materials
